Obama Diplomacy?

Europe Hints at not liking Obama's plans on Iran

So...do we care about our European allies now?? Or are these attacks on Bush more about destroying him personally?? I’m very interested to hear what people think about this. First, they say we should be concerned about what Europe thinks, then we have a candidate (The Messiah) who says we should talk without preconditions, and some leaders in Europe (who strangely remained anonymous) who say that they don’t want to change “course” now, they think they have a pretty good bead on things. Will the smelly hippie left change their tone now that their messiah has spoken? Will they snub their nose at Europe now??? Will this "uni-lateral" attitude (that Bush is stupidly accused of) simply be changed from strength to appeasement? Will they now tell us that Europe is wrong, and we should not worry about being liked? Will all the stupid Public opinion polls (designed to shape opinion rather than reflect it) go away?

I somehow think they will.

Or did Obama think about that when he made his silly statements about talking with a dictator?? The answer is “No, he didn’t”, he was not thinking.

“The U.N. Security Council has passed four resolutions demanding that Iran stop enriching uranium, each time highlighting the offer of financial and diplomatic incentives from a European-led coalition if Tehran suspends enrichment, a route to producing fuel for nuclear weapons. But Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, has said he would make such suspension a topic for discussion with Iran, rather than a precondition for any negotiations to take place.”

They say 3 is a crowd, but 4 resolutions are enough. I say we let Israel do their thing. And do it now, so that this whole matter will be done with.

Book: The Energy Non-Crisis by Lindsey Williams

Lindsey Williams, who has been an ordained Baptist minister for 28 years, went to Alaska in 1971 as a missionary. The Transalaska oil pipeline began its construction phase in 1974, and because of Mr. Williams' love for his country and concern for the spiritual welfare of the "pipeliners," he volunteered to serve as Chaplain on the pipeline, with the subsequent full support of the Alyeska Pipeline Company.
Because of the executive status accorded to him as Chaplain, he was given access to the information that is documented in this book.

After numerous public speaking engagements in the western states, certain government officials and concerned individuals urged Mr. Williams to put into print what he saw and heard, stating that they felt this information was vital to national security. Mr. Williams firmly believes that whoever controls energy controls the economy. Thus, The Energy Non-Crisis.
Because of the outstanding public response that has been generated by this book, Lindsey Williams is in great demand for speaking engagements, radio, and TV shows.

Senate Housing Bill Requires eBay, Amazon, Google, and All Credit Card Companies to Report Transactions to the Government

Washington, DC - Hidden deep in Senator Christopher Dodd's 630-page Senate housing legislation is a sweeping provision that affects the privacy and operation of nearly all of America’s small businesses. The provision, which was added by the bill's managers without debate this week, would require the nation's payment systems to track, aggregate, and report information on nearly every electronic transaction to the federal government.

FreedomWorks Chairman Dick Armey commented: "This is a provision with astonishing reach, and it was slipped into the bill just this week. Not only does it affect nearly every credit card transaction in America, such as Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express, but the bill specifically targets payment systems like eBay's PayPal, Amazon, and Google Checkout that are used by many small online businesses. The privacy implications for America's small businesses are breathtaking."

(El Liberal note: This is for transactions of 10,000 or above. I don't think the government should be expanding their I.T. powers until they figure out how to stop the Chinese from hacking the Pentagon.)

'No arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is as formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women.'- Ronald Reagan

I HIGHLY miss this guy right now!

The UN is a JOKE!

The top official of the United Nations Human Rights Council is concerned that there are "taboo" subjects that the council refuses to address. That would be ANY discussion on Islamic Sharia Law.

On Monday Council chair Doru Romulus Costea cut off a speaker who raised the subject of Islamic Sharia law and how they have no respect for human rights. The man had the nerve to bring up rules for women under Sharia law, which include the death penalty by stoning for alleged adultery.

His comments sparked a "furious response" from Arab and Islamic members and Egypt's ambassador declared that "Islam won't be crucified before this Council". What he meant to say was, (D-Rock translation on) "how dare you insult the religion of Allah, may peace be upon him." Then the chairman of the council explained that the human rights council is not prepared to discuss religious matters in depth. Let me translate that again, (D-Rock translator on) "We don't mind offending other religions, just not Islam. We don't mind calling for England to abolish their monarchy and completely change their government, but don't you dare ask this commission to take a stand against our violent religion."

The Human Rights council has members from Cuba (a place that has no true elections), and Saudi Arabia (a place that beats and still stones women).....How nice.

But Costea insists that "the Council doesn't have the expertise to debate about the fascinating links between religion and human rights."

What a pile of manure!

Younger men turning to Viagra

Who would have thought, when Viagra came out in 1998 younger men would be using the impotence drug.

Turns out health experts say more men are suffering from sex anxiety. They say more women these days know what they want and are more aggressive, so it is putting pressure on men.

"Maybe, just maybe if both men and women did more exercising and ate less red meat, the anxiety would go away, just a thought."

"Also I believe that porn warps a man's expectations and views on sexuality the same way The Lifetime Network warps a woman's expectations and views."

A noun, a verb and 9/11...

Republican Sen. John McCain on Wednesday brought out the big guns -- America's Mayor -- in an effort to continue bashing Democrat Barack Obama as soft on terrorism.

In a conference call with reporters, former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani reiterated the McCain campaign's claim that Obama has a "September 10" mentality and said he was puzzled by what he said was the Democrat's "softer" approach to terrorism.

"He seems to think [terrorism] is adequately dealt with merely by being a criminal prosecution," Giuliani, himself a famous prosecutor, said. "On every issue, he takes a softer approach."

Giuliani was referring to comments by Obama two days ago, in which he said that after the "first attack against the World Trade Center, we were able to arrest those responsible, put them on trial. They are currently in U.S. prisons, incapacitated."

Commentary: The Evil, Greedy, Vile Oil Companies...

Yes I'm sure you have heard the argument before, The Democrats are the reason for us not drilling in ANWR and off the Florida coast. What the right wing media never tells you is:

"Actually, the Interior report shows 40 percent of oil reserves on federal lands are currently open to leasing. Another 22 percent of oil reserves on federal lands are undergoing required environmental reviews before being opened to leasing. That leaves 38 percent of oil reserves on federal lands actually listed as off-limits. "

There you have it folks, the oil companies don't want to drill on the lands that they can drill on which should help with gas prices but the G.O.P. or "Gas & Oil Posse" will sit there and blame the Democrats and the FoxNews crowd will believe them hook, line and sinker.

Firefox fans celebrate release of new browser

NEW YORK (AP) -- The new version of the Firefox Web browser has become available as a free download.

Mozilla has been developing Firefox 3 for nearly three years and has been publicly testing it since November.

Tuesday's release was delayed as visitors checking for the update overloaded Firefox's Web servers.

The site was slow or unreachable for about two hours starting about 12:45 p.m. Eastern time, 15 minutes before the scheduled release time, according to AlertSite, an Internet performance monitoring company.

Performance improved later in the day.

Firefox supporters organized launch parties around the world as they tried to set a world record for most software downloads in a 24-hour period.

The category is new, and Guinness World Records must certify it, a process that could take a week or longer.

Firefox comes from Mozilla, an open-source community in which thousands of people, mostly volunteers, collectively develop free products.

Firefox is the No. 2 Web browser behind Microsoft Corp.'s Internet Explorer.

Firefox 3 includes enhancements to help users organize their frequently visited Web sites and block access to sites known to distribute viruses and other malicious software.

Users of Yahoo Inc.'s mail service can also use Firefox 3 to send e-mail by clicking a "mailto" link they might come across clicking on a name or a "contact us" link on a Web page.

Previously such links could only open a standalone, desktop e-mail program.

Firefox 3 also offers other design and speed improvements.

Speeders to pay extra for police fuel

In an Atlanta suburb, offenders will face $12 'surcharge' on top of ticket
By Larry Copeland
USA Today

HOLLY SPRINGS, Ga. — The surging price of gasoline has come to this: a "fuel surcharge" on your next speeding ticket.

Drivers caught speeding in this north Atlanta suburb soon will have to pay an extra $12 — to cover $4-a-gallon gas costs for the police officers who stop them.

The City Council passed the fee hike, effective July 1, to offset fuel prices that have eaten up nearly 60% of the police department's 2008 fuel budget, Police Chief Ken Ball says.

He expects the fee increase, which applies to all moving violations and can be rescinded if gas prices fall below $3 a gallon, to generate $19,500 to $26,000 a year for the town of 7,700.

More on Impeachment

FIRST, read this article by James Kirchik published in the LA Times (yes, I know, I was surprised too)

Bush never lied to us about Iraq

NOW, we ALL know that Clinton was saying the same thing that the Bush administration was saying...I would link a video here, but Youtube removed it and have blocked my attempts to upload it again, never say the left is not thorough when it comes to re-writing history. We'll see how long this video lasts. What are you going to say now Dem's??? Still say "Bush Lied"? If so, go sue your guvmint school for depriving you of the education you deserve.

Where it get's really bad is when Dennis Kucinich starts introducing impeachment articles because the President "lied" to the American people and the world. What is funny is that the Dem's just don't "get" this. They lost in 2004, using these same arguements, but they continue with their Bush Derangement Syndrome.

The Next First Lady

I thought I would take a slight break from strictly political issues and do a small tribute to the next first lady. This lady will make the hottest first lady ever! It's really ridiculous she's as hot as she is. Life is just not fair sometimes.

The election results if it were held today...

This map quite eloquently describes the electoral beat down John Sidney McCain is about to receive in November. He will wish he was in a Vietnamese Camp after witnessing this spectacular thrashing.

Come on Huffington Post

I know there's more depth to the story than just the sensationalistic Headline (which I had to read through 90 pages of ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz just to get the krux of the story finally). Personally, I think they should have given the guy a Star and made him an Admiral. Again, its not the content of the article that rubbed me the wrong way, just the Headline.

Regardless, not that I plan on voting for him, but come on, the guy spent 5 F@CK!NG years in a Bamboo Tiger Cage.

Global warming??

Well it appears that fans of OwlGore are in deep doo-doo. It appears that the sun is apparently going through a phase of not wanting to produce sun spots (I'm sure our democrat friends can come up with some legislation to stop this...........................(tumbleweed))

Don't lecture me on the FoxNews link :-) If it was reported anywhere else, I would.

Source: FOX NEWS

HOW MUCH LONGER IS THIS CRAP GONNA GO ON??????????? GIVE IT UP!! The 2000 election was 8 years ago. NOW the "experts" are saying that when the sun has behaved this way in the past, it ushered in a mini-ice age back in the 17th century.

This global warming stuff is absolute horse-squeeze! In the 70's it was an "ice age", now it's "warming".....THEN when NASA (the space agency for those who watch American Idol) admits their numbers were wrong for their "model".......the word becomes climate "CHANGE". I like pointing this out, since no one else puts those 2 events together. NO ONE noticed how quickly the verbage changed and what a coincidence it was.

This is nothing more than a power grab for your money and freedom, in the name of "protecting you". And the thing that FUMES me the most, is that OwlGore is involved with this "carbon credit" insanity to make a profit, no doubt at your expense.
Am I the only one that see's this? "I feel like I'm taking crazy pills"

Why you Should Vote For McCain

You get what you deserve

A saying older than the MLG itself. But also very true, especially for gas prices. Why? H.L. Menchken said, "Democracy, is the theory that the common people know what they want and deserve to get it good and hard." (It should be noted that the United States was not intended to be a democracy) In other words, we the voters sent these people to Washington, we bear some of the responsibility for their decisions on energy policy.

On May 13th Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said Saudi Arabia "holds the key to reducing gasoline prices at home in the short term." Therefore arms sales to that kingdom should be blocked unless it "increases its oil production by one million barrels per day," which would cause the price of gasoline to fall "50 cents a gallon almost immediately."

How can a senator, who spends most of his time looking for a camera, know exactly how the price of gas would respond to that increase in the oil supply, and that it would be immediate? What Chuck DOES know that if you increase the supply of something, the price of it will fall. (Free market at it's best, something Dem's don't believe in). That's why 97 senators recently voted to increase the supply of oil by stopping the flow of oil into the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which protects against supply interruptions (Katrina etc). Also, 71 of the 97 senators who voted to stop filling the Strategic Petroleum Reserve ALSO oppose drilling in ANWR. Does this make sense to you?? How can you believe that putting more oil on the market will make the price go down, but oppose bringing more on the market? What's more important, the future of our economy (and the "working class" you purport to be on the lookout for, since Republicans are evil of course) or some moose in Alaska, that MIGHT (no evidence) be harmed by a highly improbable spill?

One million barrels a day is what geologists estimate would flow from ANWR if Heir Slickmeister had not vetoed legislation to permit drilling there back in 1995. One million barrels produce about 20 million gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel. 72 of today's senators, including Chuckie, and 38 other Democrats, including Barack Hussein Obama, and 33 Republicans, including John McCain, have voted to keep ANWR's estimated 10 billion barrels of oil off the market.

WE also elected senators and representatives who have voted to keep ANWR off limits, and voted to put 85 percent (that includes Florida, where most of the MLG is located) of America's offshore territory off-limits. The restricted area contains estimates of 86 billion barrels of oil and 420 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, that's 10 times the oil Americans use in a year.

I bet most of my esteemed MLG associates did not know that drilling is under way 60 miles off Florida. The drilling is being done by (take a guess).....China, in cooperation with Cuba, which is drilling closer to South Florida than U.S. companies are.

In September 2006, Chevron announced that their "Jack No. 2" well, in the Gulf 270 miles southwest of New Orleans, had tapped a field with perhaps 15 billion barrels of oil, which would increase America's proven reserves by 50 percent. Just probing four miles below the ocean floor would cost $100 million to $1.5 billion. But how does Congress respond to such good news???? They propose increasing their tax burdens.

Yes folks. These are the Rep's that WE elected! WE bear some of the responsibility for this dribble. While you pay out the nose to fill your car up and drive to work, they are busy making a name for themselves and scoring political points by burning the Oil exec's at the stake, and doing everything BUT creating energy independence for the United States.
